Period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I lived through the golden age at the end of the 90s and beginning of the 2000s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The real gold rush in the IT industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When \"cold calling\" still meant that you walked through business parks in a suit and walked in somewhere without an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today? All it takes is a LinkedIn profile, a half-baked pitch and a bit of ChatGPT text, and suddenly they call themselves a \"sales expert\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But do you know what all these would-be salespeople CANNOT do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LISTEN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not small talk. Not \"analyze needs\". I mean real, deep, empathetic listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the skill that determines your survival in sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the products are becoming more and more similar. So are the prices. Even the tools and sales<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mp-sales-consulting.de\/en\/enzyklopaedie\/plattform\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"In IT, a platform is a uniform basis on which various application services or programs or components are made usable.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">Platform<\/a>hardly differ any more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only difference?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How well you really understand your customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not superficial. Not memorized objections. But genuine, sincere listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f Listen to hear between the lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f Listening to recognize emotional triggers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f Listening to build trust before the customer even knows they want to buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sounds banal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because almost nobody can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We live in a world in which everyone wants to send but no one wants to receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where everyone pitches but no one understands anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that is precisely why \"listening\" becomes a superpower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the AI era, it's the only skill you can't outsource.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Data? Does the AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write offers? The AI does it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinate follow-up appointments? The AI does it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But real listening?
