Lead

Lead means to lead. In the CRM context, it refers to a prospect.

In the context of sales, a lead stands for a contact with a potential customer (prospect). Depending on the organization, the definition of the term "lead" can vary. For some companies, a "lead" is a contact that has already been defined as a potential customer.

Often, a lead is also referred to as an unqualified sales opportunity (Opportunity).
